Sewer Rate Increase
Chillicothe, OH - January 2024
The City of Chillicothe wishes to inform you of an upcoming change that will impact your utility expenses. City Ordinance 01-23 passed by Chillicothe City Council on January 9, 2023, requires certain automatic annual adjustments, there will be an increase in city sewer rates of 8% as well as a monthly $8.00 capital improvement surcharge effective January 2024. The decision to adjust the rates was made to meet the growing demands of our community, and to ensure continued maintenance and improvement of our sewage infrastructure. The $8.00 capital improvement surcharge will be collected to assist with the construction costs of the new wastewater facilities on Renick Avenue.
Customers are encouraged to visit ChillicotheOH.gov to view additional information, sign up for electronic bills, set up automatic payments, and to obtain tips on minimizing water usage. An updated Water and Sewer Rate Table can be found here. The adjustment and surcharge will be reflected in your billing cycle beginning February 2024.
